Dmitry Kryukov
Chief Conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Bashkortostan
Dmitry Kryukov is one of the most sought-after young conductors in Russia, who has succeeded to firmly establish himself on the Russian and foreign stages. Nowadays he is a Chief Conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Honoured Artist of the Republic of Bashkortostan, winner of the Salavat Yulayev State Prize. Dmitry Kryukov graduated from the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory (2015) and the Moscow Conservatory post-graduate course in Professor Valery Polyansky’s class (2017). In 2009 he joined the State Academic Symphony Chapel of Russia as an assistant conductor to Valery Polyansky. Since then he has assisted in conducting over 60 operas and over 100 symphony programs. He regularly performs with distinguished orchestras including the Russian State Academic Symphony Chapel Orchestra, the Gnesins State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia and the Russian State Academic Symphony Orchestra. In 2014 he was invited to join the Russian National Orchestra, the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra and the Bolshoi Theatre Symphony Orchestra.
In 2014 he was invited to perform as assistant conductor to Gennady Rozhdestvensky for the production of Rimsky-Korsakov’s opera «The Tsar’s Bride» at the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia. The same year, at the age of 23, the conductor made his debut on the historic stage of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia. In 2015 he conducted the opera «The Tsar’s Bride» on a tour of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia to Hong Kong, and in 2016 he had a DVD of the opera of the same name with the orchestra Bolshoi Theatre of Russia recorded. In the same year he won the DebutHamburg Competition (Germany). His repertoire includes over 70 operas as well as music from various eras and styles ranging from Johann Sebastian Bach to S. Gubaidullina and major symphonic and concert works by the most distinguished composers of the period.
In 2018 Dmitry Kryukov worked as a Chief Guest Conductor of the NSO RB. Since 2019 he has been working as the Chief Conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Bashkortostan. In 2021 he was awarded the title of Honoured Artist of the Republic of Bashkortostan. In 2022 he won the S. Yulayev State Prize of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
In 2021 as the Chief Conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Dmitry Kryukov performed the orchestra’s first solo programs at the Moscow State Academic Philharmonic Orchestra in the famous Tchaikovsky Concert Hall and at the Grand Hall of the D.D. Shostakovich St. Petersburg Academic Philharmonia. Since April 2021 the National Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Bashkortostan under the baton of Dmitry Kryukov has been performing on an annual tour to towns and cities across the Republic of Tatarstan. In October 2021, for the first time in the history of the NSO RB Dmitry Kryukov presented the orchestra at the VI Symphony Forum of Russia in Yekaterinburg, earning high praise from Russian critics and recognition from audiences. In May 2022 the orchestra under Dmitry Kryukov participated in the XX International Open Arts Festival «Victory Day Dedicated…», presenting the world premiere of David Krivitsky’s «War Cantata» at the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. In September 2022, the orchestra gave two major concerts in Moscow: on September 2, the orchestra successfully performed at the opening ceremony of the V International Festival of Ildar Abdrazakov at the Tchaikovsky Hall of the Moscow State Conservatory, and on September 3, for the first time in its history the orchestra, conducted by Dmitry Kryukov, opened the 101st concert season of the Moscow State Academic Philharmonic and performed at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall together with People’s Artist of Russia Denis Matsuev.
